Prayer

prayer-cross"They devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."  (Acts 2:42)

Our church is committed to prayer, just as were the members of the early church.  Faithful prayer is offered regularly by a dedicated core of Elders and Intercessors.  These prayers sustain and support the life of the community of Living Faith.

Elders:  First of all, our Elders are people of prayer, committed to praying regularly for the needs of our church and its members.  On Sunday mornings, our Elders make themselves available to pray with and for anyone who might seek prayer.  Additionally, when someone is in need of prayer before a hospitalization or surgical procedure, the Elders may be called upon to pray in advance so as to encourage the work of healing in body, soul and spirit.

Elder of the Week:  During the hours between Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. when the church office closes and it reopens on Monday morning and every evening, an Elder of the Week is on call for any and all Pastoral Care needs that may arise.  Please feel free to contact them at 480-730-3551.

Sunday Intercessors: Our Sunday Intercessors are people who lead the worship assembly in prayer during the worship service.  These Intercessors are trained people who join with the Elders to pray for those who desire individual prayer.  These prayer teams of two are available during the time of Communion and following the service.

E-Mail Prayer Chain:  Our e-mail prayer chain receives regular requests for prayer and they intercede for the needs that are given to them.  These requests may be of an emergency nature or related to an ongoing need someone may have.  Whatever the request, prayer is offered until word is given that the Lord has met the need.

Phone Prayer Chain: Our phone prayer chain is comprised of people who have set aside great amounts of time for prayer and they often "soak" the needs of people in prayer for lengthy periods.  This prayer chain often tackles the more intransigent and persistent needs that people have.  When requested, they also pray for issues of mission for the wider church, as well as for the provision of the Lord for Living Faith.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and are burdened, and I will give you rest."  (Matthew 11:28)
