Scripture
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are God's Word, which means that God inspired human authors to communicate in verbal and written form the message that God intended for people to hear and know. We believe that God speaks to us through the Bible and that the Holy Spirit helps us to accurately interpret God's Word. The Old Testament tells the story of how God created the world and how he developed a special relationship with the Hebrew people. The New Testament consists of writings that address the life and ministry of Jesus and how that life is meant to be lived by the members of the church. The Apocrypha is a collection of additional books which are useful for instruction, but that do not have the same authority as the Old and New Testaments for the church.
