Los Ninos in Guadalupe
Living Faith sponsors a monthly program for the children ages two through fourteen from the nearby community of Guadalupe. Thirty children, on average, attend on any given Saturday morning, but more children would like to join. Living Faith began this ministry in Guadalupe over ten years ago and the program is currently being held on the campus of Bethany Community Church in Tempe.
Los Ninos meets on Saturday mornings. Breakfast is served to the children, a Bible study is shared, and hands-on learning activities take place. Each child is sent home with a snack bag to supplement their nutrition. The standard format is kept flexible to accommodate special occasions and opportunities.
This outwardly-focused mission exists because many residents in Guadalupe belong to large, extended families where unemployment is high, housing is often sub-standard and there are many forms of abuse and addictions. Los Ninos strives to enrich, nurture and affect the lives of the children of Guadalupe and their families by connecting them with outside organizations, businesses, resources and individuals through community-wide partnerships, education, outreach and fellowship.
