Taba Partners

rwanda1Our Taba Partnership in Rwanda is guided by the Holy Spirit, dedicated to spreading the word of God by revealing the love of Christ throughout the world.  Living Faith is partnered with Taba Parish in the Diocese of Kigeme, Rwanda.  This parish began in 1998 and currently has 7 congregations and serves about 2700 members.  The village borders the southernmost edge of Nyungwe National Forest and is often cool and rainy. The Bishop of Kigeme Diocese is The Right Reverend Augustin Mvunabandi whose focus is on leadership development.  The Archdeacon and the priest in charge of Taba Parish is the Rev. Moise Cyamana, who also has a passion for growing and developing leaders.  Because of his dedication to the Lord and his staff, Pastor Moise (Moi-zee) has a large number of lay catechists working with him to spread the gospel.

By accepting partnership with the Taba Parish, Living Faith has now invited Taba to be a part of ourrwanda-3 family.  The Archbishop has encouraged us to move from our sometimes Western mindset of engaging in projects and moving toward building lasting friendships.  With this challenge in mind, we are planning ways to incorporate our African partners into our daily lives through prayers, music and worship integration, visuals and stories.  Additionally, we plan to work with partner churches in order to establish a regular cycle of visitation to Rwanda.  The Archbishop and the diocesan staff have made it clear that the most powerful way we can exhibit the love of Christ to our friends is to come, be with the people and wipe their tears.
