Confirmation

Confirmation is the sacrament that allows someone who has been baptized previously to confirm his or her faith in Jesus Christ and declare publicly his or her intention to live life as a Christian.  In this sacrament, the bishop that oversees us visits the church and prays for each person who has been prepared to make this step in faith.  While he prays, he lays hands on the person and the whole congregation joins him in his prayer that Jesus would mightily be displayed in this person's life as both Savior and Lord.

Confirmation is especially suitable for young adults who have been baptized at a younger age because it gives them an opportunity to learn the basics of following Jesus into adulthood and gives them the tools to do so.  Confirmation is not limited to young adults, however, and anyone who would make this commitment is invited to prepare him or herself to do so.
