What to Expect
Since the days of the first Jesus followers, people have come together to worship God and to hear about all that He has done since the beginning of time. They were particularly interested in hearing how He is active in their time, just as we are. Worship, in its purest form, is what happens when people make God a gift of themselves and Christians adopted the practice of the Jewish people when they set aside one day each week for worshp and rest from their daily labors.
Living Faith worships using very ancient forms of worship:
- We confess our sins to God and receive his forgiveness.
- We sing songs of praise to God.
- We hear passages of Scripture read and interpreted by a trained speaker (preacher).
- We pray for the world and its needs, including our own.
- We share a Communion meal of bread and wine with thanksgiving.
- We return to the world with gratitude and a renewed commitment to serve God everyday.
These ancient worship forms invite active worship participation by calling forth from the worshiping community responses in various forms:
- Invitations are extended to pray and to praise God.
- Invitations are extended to confess sins and confess one's faith.
- Invitations are extended to share testimony of God's power and to share the Communion meal.
