Children's Ministry is here to support the formation of children in the knowledge of God and toward mutual love with their Good Shepherd, Jesus.
Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry Offerings
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
for Children through Grade 5
At both services, the children begin worship with their families among the congregation. They are then blessed and walk to their Liturgy spaces with Children's Aides. Children are returned to their families in worship as the Liturgy of the Table begins with the congregation.
Diapering stations are available in the Narthex Restrooms, should you need to access them during worship.
Family Room
offered during both worship services for children 3 and under
This space is open during morning services to infants through age three. We share a simple story with infants and a curricular story with toddlers. The children enjoy fellowship and a Feast together after hearing God's Story. The environment is prepared with many age-appropriate work and play options. The Family Room is also available for nursing and diapering.
Toddler Story Space
Offered during the 8:30 AM Worship Service as part of the Children's Liturgy of the Word.
Toddlers arriving after the children's blessing join Toddlers from the Family Room space and "Walk to Story" with Children's Ministry Staff. Here, the toddlers continue to practice routines learned in the Family Room while learning new routines in preparation for aging up to the Age 3-4-5 Room.
Age 3-4-5 Room
offered during both worship services
Familiar routines continue in this classroom with listening to God's Story, building and sharing a Feast, and many choices of age-appropriate work materials.
K-Plus
offered during both worship services
The same routines they have mastered at younger ages continue in this age group. The scope of Bible stories increases, and the children's participation in the story and response is designed to meet their developing interests.
Grade 3-5
Offered during the 10:30 am worship service
The purpose of our weekly work together, as we read, engage with, and reflect on Scripture, is to grow in Following Jesus.
At various times over our three-year cycle, there are opportunities to read at the lectern from the Lectionary, pray Collects from The Book of Common Prayer, and serve as Acolyte, advancing our Church Calendar and lighting candles. We offer a place where everyone is encouraged to participate, discover, think, and wonder together.
