Group Ministry promotes small gatherings within the larger congregation which emphasize one of the three dimensions of our church’s life together: community, formation, and mission.

Community groups

Community Groups are gatherings focused on intentional fellowship, discussion, and prayer. These groups encourage the development of meaningful relationships across generations and provide a context for the practice of hospitality. These groups meet throughout the entire ministry year (Aug-June).

formation groups

Formation Groups are gatherings focused on growing in our love for God and neighbor as we are formed by God’s Word. These groups encourage the study of God’s Word as it applies to every aspect of our life and the development of the practices of spiritual formation. These groups will meet for various lengths of time throughout the year depending on the content of the group.

mission groups

Mission Groups are gatherings focused on outreach to a specific people, place, or problem. These groups often serve with ministry partners in the community. These groups encourage cultivating relationships with and offering the love of Christ to those not yet a part of the Church. These groups will meet for various lengths of time throughout the year depending on the nature of the outreach.

A note about children in Group Ministry:

Generally, children are welcome to attend any of the groups we offer. Community groups are meant to be places of intergenerational fellowship. So, in Community Groups, the group has the responsibility to develop a plan to involve and invest in the children who are members of the group. In the case of Formation and Mission Groups, however, parents are the ones responsible for supervising their children whenever the group gathers.
